Director Biography:
Greg Smith is the Administrator and Chief Procurement Officer of the Nevada State Purchasing Division. Greg assumed this role in July 2003, after serving as the agency’s Deputy Administrator in charge of Services Procurement. Prior to joining state government, Greg served as President of a west coast pizza chain. He enjoys golf, politics and served two (2) terms on the Carson City Board of Supervisors in the 90’s including a stint as Mayor Pro-Tem. Greg has chaired numerous Northern Nevada Boards and Commissions, including Chairman of the Carson City RTC, Chairman of the Water Sub-Conservancy Dist. (7 counties), Chairman of the Carson City Charter Review Committee, Governor’s Appointee and Chairman of the state’s Employment Management Committee (EMC).
He served on the NASPO Board of Directors from 2003-2012 and is former NASPO Finance Chair and former NASPO President (2010).
